Emily B. Yang (b. 1991) is a Taiwanese-Malaysian artist based in Brooklyn. As a ceramic and block print artist, she brings block printing and ceramic surface decoration closer together as a means to create new narratives around diasporic storytelling and feminist cultural speculation.

Her practice also emphasizes collective-making workshops; exploring the speculative potential of creating multiples to envision shared futures.

Emily has exhibited at the Royal Academy of Art in London, the Yale School of Architecture, and the Harvard Graduate School of Design Kirkland Gallery. She has completed artist residencies at the Penland School of Craft (twice!), Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Block Culture in Jaipur, and more. She is a graduate of Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, and currently teaches at the Parsons School of Design in New York.

In addition to her artistic practice, she also engages in collaborations and commissions. Check out her recently commissioned illustrations for the Museum of Modern Art, the New York Times, and Welcome to Chinatown.
